Steel Windows Manufacturing Process and Maintenance
Galvanising
Steel windows are sealed against corrosion by the hot-dip galvanising process. In a controlled factory process, frames are completely immersed in molten zinc for long life protection.
Polyester Powder Coating
Fully assembled windows are further enhanced with a factory applied polyester powder coating. This hard wearing finish is applied to the galvanised steel frames and then stoved to form a tough, durable and consistent surface coating. Reducing maintenance costs as no repainting is required for 15-20 years.
Weather Stripping
All our opening windows are weather stripped with permanent, efficient neoprene PVC for reduction of draughts Our windows have been successfully tested to severe weather conditions and thoroughly proven in use. Quality manufactured steel windows, using skilled labour and materials, meet all appropriate British Standards (BS6510:1984). Offering high performance and low maintenance, polyester powder coated steel windows are a great addition to your property and are a first class investment for the future.
Maintenance
Minimal maintenance is required on all our windows. Occasionally wiping down with a damp cloth and periodically oiling hinges and fittings keep our steel windows in an "as new" condition. Washing polyester powder coated steel windows at regular intervals, such as when the window glass is cleaned, is recommended. Light detergent solutions can be used but avoid harsh abrasives. Any minor damage to the paint coating can be touched up with a matching air-drying paint.
